Calling all flight attendants!! Netflix is hirin

Calling all flight attendants!!

Netflix is hiring a flight attendant for one of its private jets and the job pays up to $385,000 a year.

The role, advertised on the company’s website, requires the Northern California-based flight attendant to carry up to 30 lbs., travel the world for extended amounts of time and “be capable of long periods of standing.”

The flight attendant will also be required to work flights on a Gulfstream G550 jet as needed. The ideal candidate can provide “confidential air transportation” and should be able to perform their jobs with “discretion.”

While the company hasn’t provided a specific compensation range for the role, it lists the overall market range for similar positions ranging from $60,000 and $385,000. Compensation will be determined based on experience level, the company said.

Netflix said the ideal candidate not only is professionally trained in cabin and passenger safety and aircraft emergency evacuation, but is also able to “embrace the Netflix culture of freedom and responsibility.”

That culture includes “operating with little direction and lots of self-motivation,” Netflix said.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has revers

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has reversed a decision made earlier this month to implement more COVID-related restrictions on incoming international travelers.

The TAT said its fully-reopen-to-tourism policy is still in effect and does not require proof of vaccination or negative coronavirus test results before entering the country.

Thailand is also offering a longer period of stay for visitors as part of the full reopening. Starting on March 31, international visitors entitled to visa exemption will be permitted to stay as long as 45 days and those eligible for a Visa on Arrival can stay for 30 days.

“We are most pleased to continue to be able to welcome all visitors to Thailand without proof of vaccination or a negative ATK or RT-PCR test result,” TAT Director Santi Sawangcharoen said. “With the simplified entry process, the Kingdom's vibrant culture, cuisine and natural beauty are able to remain the focus of travel to Amazing Thailand.”

Earlier this week, the government announced that all incoming airline passengers ages 18 and older would have needed to provide proof that they’re fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or recovered from the illness within the previous six months (180 days).

In addition, the previous rule changes included international arrivals presenting proof of a travel health insurance policy with coverage enough for at least $10,000 of coronavirus treatment.

On Wednesday, Thailand also announced plans to start collecting a $12 fee from foreign tourists arriving in the country, starting in June.

According to the Straits Times, the money will be used to support visitors involved in accidents and develop tourist destinations.

Instead of spending loads of money on flying Bae out this Valentine’s Day, take them on a scenic route through the countryside.

Amtrak is making it easier to see the country by train thanks to a $200 discount on its USA Rail Pass (what’s more romantic than traveling and saving money at the same time).

The pass, which is currently on sale for just $299, allows travelers to book 10 rides over the course of 30 days for one flat rate. The sale is valid for passes purchased by Jan. 20 and can be activated up to 120 days after purchase.

“Travelers can jump start the new year by planning a cross country train adventure, hopping from town-to-town, or simply spending a few extended weekends away from home,” Amtrak wrote in a released statement. “Whether looking to discover hidden gems or visiting friends in the next city over, the USA Rail Pass makes it easy for customers to plan and use this year’s vacation days on more getaways.”

The pass, which regularly costs $499, allows travelers to book a coach ticket to many of Amtrak’s more than 500 destinations across the United States, from stunning national parks to city escapes, epic ski trips, and more. Bonus: there are no blackout dates.

Travelers who purchase the pass must use it to confirm each trip on Amtrak’s website, on its app, or with an agent before traveling, and must have a ticket and a reservation for each segment.

Those who don’t get the pass can still save money on rail journeys by booking weeks in advance and checking for route discounts on Amtrak’s website, including discounts for students, veterans, and more.

Why pay for WiFi at home when you can enjoy it in the sky for free (yesss we know….you’d have to pay for the flight first).

Delta Airlines will be offering free in-flight wifi as more airlines are offering passengers access to high-speed connection during flights for free.

There’s just one small catch…
Starting February 1st, if you want this free wifi, then you’ll need to become a member of their frequent flyer program, SkyMiles (don’t worry - it’s free and has awesome benefits).

Customers will only have to access their SkyMiles accounts from their personal devices and start browsing. If they are not registered, passengers can easily join the SkyMiles program before or during their flight for free.

By the end of 2023, Delta expects to offer wifi service on 700 Viasat-equipped aircraft and include all international and regional aircraft by 2024.

Delta is not the first major U.S. airline to offer free in-flight wifi. Southwest Airlines offers onboard free wifi to stream and watch certain shows but access is restricted, and to get unlimited access travelers must pay or be part of an elite status on their frequent flier program. JetBlue also provides free wifi service to its customers through their network, Flyfi, and it was once the only airline offering internet connection for free.

Now that Delta is offering free wifi service, it is an even more powerful competitor, adapting to travelers’ current needs, and gaining leverage against other airlines still charging for inflight wifi.

Once passengers have a Skymiles account, they can access the “DeltaWiFi.com” network from their personal devices—and even from multiple devices at the same time.

After joining the network, travelers can stream shows, watch videos, send emails, and scroll through social media. The experience should feel just like a regular ground internet connection.

U.S. low-cost carrier, JetBlue, will launch more routes this year under a partnership with American Airlines even as the tie-up faces a legal challenge by antitrust regulators.

JetBlue said it will add more routes from New York, Boston and Los Angeles. Across New York's three major airports, the "Northeast Alliance" (NEA) will fly more than 500 daily departures in 2023, as well as nearly 200 daily departures in Boston, the airline added.

The U.S. Justice Department, six states and the District of Columbia have called the NEA a "de facto merger" of the companies' Boston and New York operations and have sued to block the partnership.

The US National Park Service is back with its offe

The US National Park Service is back with its offer of five days a year when the entrance fees are waived at every site under its domain in the country. That includes all 63 national parks and more than 420 places in total.

The first free day is on Monday, January 16, which is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The free January day is a great time weatherwise to visit national parks that are blazin' hot in summer -- think Death Valley National Park in California, Big Bend National Park in Texas and Everglades National Park in Florida.

But given how popular the parks have become, it might be a good idea to arrive early and check online for potential timed entries on the free days. That's especially true for the most popular parks with comfortable temperatures in January.

Other free days in 2023
Can't make it for MLK Day? The other four free entrance dates are scattered throughout the seasons and the calendar:

• Saturday, April 22: First day of  National Park Week
• Friday, August 4: Great American Outdoors Day
• Saturday, September 23:  National Public Lands Day
Saturday, November 11:  Veterans Day

NPS said that most national park sites do not have entrance fees at all. Out of the 423 national park sites, only 108 have admission fees that range from $5 to $35.

And some groups of people can also get free passes or get discounts all year:
• US military members and their dependents, US veterans and Gold Star families
• Students
• Disabled citizens
• Senior citizens
