Tabitha Brown’s Seven Recipes From Around The World

We may be in lockdown but our tastebuds can still travel. Tabitha Brown is the quarantine mom comforting millions of Americans on social media with vegan recipes inspired by famous foods from around the world.

Brown’s calming voice, colloquialisms, inspirational messaging, and accessible vegan recipes have propelled her to social media stardom overnight. The mother of two joined TikTok in early March before the US entered its COVID-19 quarantine. As of May 13, she has amassed 2.8 million followers on the platform, and on Instagram, 1.4 million.

The 41-year-old suffered from chronic pain before watching What the Health, a documentary she credits with motivating her Veganism. Brown’s recipes are always simple and include ingredients you’re likely to find in the common fridge: a quarter of used red onion, half of a dank looking squash, lime, garlic salt, lemon pepper, a wilting bell pepper. The influential matriarch transforms variations of these ingredients paired with mushrooms or coconut into delicious vegan meals in under 60-seconds.

Cooking is one of the ways our minds and tastebuds can travel without leaving our homes. We’ve selected seven of Brown’s healthy dishes that will take you there. So set the vibe, pick a playlist, turn on a foreign film and get into yo bizness.
